THE POMERANIAN CLUB OPEN SHOW JANUARY 2023
PUPPY DOG (2,1)
1st Best Puppy & Best Opposite Sex in Show, Gooch’s LIREVAS WELL FANCY THAT and fancy that I did! Very promising 9 month boy who is maturing nicely. I hope he has finished growing. Very attractive head with foxy outline. Correct eyes with black rims and nose pigment. Good lay of shoulder and well ribbed. Moved freely in front and behind, sporting a super quality double coat with well feathered tail.
JUNIOR DOG (2,1)
1st Pike & Carter’s BREEZELYN FOX ON THE RUN, small orange boy waiting to grow his ruff to hide his somewhat bigger ears. Mature for his age with quality coat and good tail plumage and carriage despite being a little reluctant on the move. Moved a little wide in front.
POST GRADUATE DOG (1)
1st Pike & Carter’s BREEZELYN TIME TO SHINE, masculine mature boy of 4 years. Correct finer bone, short neck set into well laid shoulders, level top, just a fraction long over loin. Moved sound behind, a little narrow in front.
LIMIT DOG (1)
1st Pike & Carter’s BREEZELYN GINVINCIBLE, handsome sable boy with quality coat with plenty of feathering of correct texture. Pleasing in head with dark eyes of correct shape and lovely intelligent expression. Little straight at shoulder and moving a tad wide in front.
OPEN DOG (2)
1st Smith’s SUEACRES KISS OF LOVE JW, typey boy of correct size in a neat compact package with all the animation a Pom can give. I liked his head with neat erect ears, good lay of shoulder and topline. He moved out soundly.
2nd Pike & Carter’s BREEZELYN LATIN GIGOLO, much to like about this boy too. A little more extreme in head than 1 with neat ears and very expressive dark eyes. He has a short back and compact body but a little straight in shoulder. Another sound boy.
3rd PAAVALI’S NIGHT KING AT CASSIBAWN
SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG (1)
1st & Best Sp Beginners, Booth’s LAGNEYS BLACK JACK, Black boy of correct compact size. Correct shape to head with neat erect ears. Correct shoulders and a sound mover. Coat a little soft but a wealth of it.
PUPPY BITCH (3,1)
1st & Reserve Best Puppy in Show, Cawthera-Purdy’s LIREVA’S YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE, at almost a year she is in a small compact package. Foxy in head with correct eyes, appears a little sharp in expression. Not the bravest for 11 months but a sound mover.
2nd Cregg’s EDKBANGELS ZENNIA, a feminine bitch with attractive head and expression. She is a little on the larger size and I felt longer over loin than was balanced. Moved close behind with a swing in front.
JUNIOR BITCH (1)
1st & Reserve Best Bitch, Robb’s GLENIREN ALL EYES ON ME, aptly named – I am sure they are – a very eyecatching bitch of just 13 months, who cuts a lovely shape in the smallest of packages. Very pretty head of deep orange. Dark medium eye with a mischievous expression. Moves out in true Pom style with plenty of pzazz.
UNDERGRADUATE BITCH (1)
1st Cawthera-Purdy’s LIREVA’S QUINTESSENCE, attractive bitch of lovely size and bone. Head carried proudly on her short neck set well into shoulders. Nice compact shape. Head foxy in outline with dark expressive eyes with good pigment. Quality coat.
POST GRADUATE BITCH (1)
1st Best Bitch & Best in Show, Mathews-Jones handling for Cawthera-Purdy LIREVA’S GLORIA SWANSON, so much to like about this bitch, correct size, lovely outline and best shoulders of the day. She moves positively in front and behind. I liked her head properties and mischievous expression. Her handler worked her hard with edible enticements to keep her ears erect to complete the picture.
OPEN BITCH (1)
1st Mathews-Jones handling for Cawthera-Purdy LIREVA’S DANCING ON ATTITUDE, carrying a wealth of quality coat. Attractive head with dark expressive eyes, not the blackest pigment. Good head carriage, correct shoulders, a fraction longer over loin than the kennel mate winner of the previous class. A sound mover, a little loose in front.
SPECIAL BEGINNERS BITCH (2)
1st EDKBANGELS ZENNIA
2nd Booth’s RETA’S TRUE DESTINY FOR CAGNEYS, small, compact and dainty, deep orange girl with very feminine head. I preferred her overall shape but she disappointed on the move. Perhaps it was her excitement but she was very high stepping in front which threw her out of balance.
SPECIAL OPEN ORANGE OR ORANGE SABLE DOG/BITCH (1)
1st Pike & Carter’s POM DE CACHEMIR FLUORESCENT ADOLESCENT AT BREEZELYN IMP ESP, handsome male who was very sound on the move. Expressive head of correct shape with neat erect ears. He appeared a little longer on the stand than he did strutting his stuff. Quality coat.
SPECIAL OPEN ANY OTHER COLOUR DOG/BITCH (1)
1st Gooch’s PAAVALI’S FIRST CHOICE AT CASSIBAWN, a little larger than desirable but appealing in head, so expressive eyes that could be a little darker but completely focussed on his handler. Correct shoulders, neat shape, and thoroughly enjoying himself on the move.
SPECIAL MEMBERS CC WINNERS & CHAMPIONS OPEN DOG/BITCH (2) – what a great class to have at your Open Show and delighted to have the opportunity to go over these two boys that I have admired from the ringside.
1st Cawthera-Purdy’s CH. LIREVA’S WILDEST DREAMS, this boy has that very special attitude and presence that demands “pick me”. Intense dark eyes, well set, neat ears, foxy in outline. Compact shape, short over loin with fairly deep chest that many of the younger dogs lacked. Totally at one with his handler and stylish on the move.
2nd Mathews-Jones handling for Cawthera-Purdy LIREVA’S FLYING BLACK IN TIME, this little black man caught my eye in the show ring last year and delighted to see him up close and personal here – he doesn’t disappoint! He is a lovely size and shape with correct head, dark eyes alert expression. Correct neck well set into shoulders, short over the loin and so very sound on the move.
